Inspiring Words From Jim Rohn

Jim Rohn wasn’t content with climbing the corporate ladder in your typical 9-5, although his path definitely started out that way. Working as a human resource manager for Sears Department store, Rohn went to work every day, punched in, punched out, and never thought much about investing in himself. All that changed when a friend invited him to a lecture given by famous entrepreneur John Earl Shoaff. Rohn joined Shoaff's direct selling business AbundaVita as a distributor, eventually quit his job at Sears, and went on to become one of the most successful entrepreneurs and motivational speakers in American history. If you’re looking for some inspiration to help set you on the path to success, here are a few inspiring words from Jim Rohn:

“Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines practiced every day.”

“I used to blame everything outside of me for my lack of progress until I found that my problem was inside.”

“Life is not just the passing of time. Life is the collection of experiences and their intensity.”

“Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems, wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenges, wish for more wisdom.”

“Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins.”

“Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.”

A Wise Man, A Joke, and A Valuable Lesson

Let’s be honest, it’s not always smiles and sunshine. Life can be tough at times, problems can pop up again and again, and sometimes, we’re more than just a little justified to complain about it. But does that complaining do any good? Maybe, but not for long. Here’s an inspiring story with a lesson well worth learning:

“People visit a wise man complaining about the same problems over and over again. One day, he decided to tell them a joke and they all roared with laughter.

After a few minutes, he told them the same joke and only a few of them smiled.

Then he told the same joke for a third time, but no one laughed or smiled anymore.

The wise man smiled and said: ‘You can’t laugh at the same joke over and over. So why are you always crying about the same problem?'”

Complaining can be a great way to let out some frustration, and when done constructively it could even help lead to a solution, but it’s well worth remembering that you can’t complain forever, at some point you have to take charge and apply energy to your problems in a more constructive manner. It may not be easy at first, it may not be easy at all, but it’s a lesson well worth learning and a way of life well worth following. After all, what harm could it do?
